Snow leopard test positive for Covid-19

It’s the 6th creature species affirmed to have been tainted with the infection after human contact.

Another huge feline species tested positive for Covid-19, this time a snow leopard.

Three snow leopard, two guys and a female, tested positive for the infection at the Louisville Zoo, the zoo and the US Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service affirmed Friday.

The leopards were likely tainted by an asymptomatic staff part “notwithstanding precautionary measures taken by the zoo,” the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspect Service said.

It’s improbable the leopards or different creatures represent a critical danger in communicating the infection to people, as COVID-19 is principally spread between individuals.

The primary was a Malayan tiger at the Bronx Zoo, who in April tested positive for Covid subsequent to demonstrating manifestations of respiratory sickness.
