More than 170 killed in floods and landslides in Indonesia

INDONESIA : The death toll from floods and landslides in Indonesia has risen to more than 170.

At least 72 people have been killed in Adonara, according to the National Disaster Mitigation Organization. As well as 47 dead and 22 missing in Lembada.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has vowed to relocate new homes for victims in the Catholic-majority eastern province of Nusa Tenggara.

Widodo made the pledge during a visit to the worst-affected areas of Lombardy and Adonara.

The president also distributed more than 5,000 aid packages to victims on both islands.
