MALAYSIA : The king of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah, has declared has decided to declare a state of emergency.
The decision was made to control the spread of the corona virus in the country.
The move was requested by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, and allows Mr Muhyiddin to suspend parliament at a time when his government is weakened.
The ruler of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah, has proclaimed a months-in length highly sensitive situation the nation over to battle an ascent in Covid-19 cases.
The royal residence said the crisis would go on until 1 August, except if cases were managed before.
Critics state it permits Mr Muhyiddin’s precarious government to stick to control.
The highly sensitive situation, the first in quite a while, was proclaimed on Monday by the ruler, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah. It suspends Malaysia’s parliament and political movement and awards the state new powers.
The highly sensitive situation permits the state to assume control over private medical clinics and send extra military and police.
