The booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine has been approved for use in the United States over the age of 65.
The approval was given by the Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. food and medical watchdog.
Recipients of the booster dose should have completed at least six months after receiving the second dose of the vaccine.
It has also been reported that young people at risk of infection can get a third vaccine.
